Canada Excellence Research Chair in Aquatic Epidemiology
The Chair in Aquatic Epidemiology would solidify Canada's leading role in the detection and control of diseases that threaten the world's production of aquatic food animals. The Chair's research in support of surveillance and prevention programs would fill an urgent global need for knowledge and expertise to guide both industry practice and public policy for aquaculture and its interaction with wild fish. The Chair will build on the internationally recognized strength and unmatched expertise of the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College in both aquatic health and epidemiology to promote healthy fish, a healthy environment and healthy food.
