Ian Gardner honoured with the Davis 2016 Alumni Achievement Award


Ian Gardner, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Aquatic Epidemiology at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), has been honoured by the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), School of Veterinary Medicine with a 2016 Alumni Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to veterinary epidemiology.

A professor of epidemiology at UPEI’s Atlantic Veterinary College, Gardner was presented with his award by Michael Lairmore, dean of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Gardner was a faculty member at UC Davis from 1988, rising to the position of professor of epidemiology, until his move to Canada in 2011.

The highest honour bestowed by the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the Alumni Achievement Award was presented to Gardner for “his outstanding global contributions that advance the discipline of veterinary epidemiology.”
